While on their girls trip, the Scottish trio – who host the popular Girls Overheard podcast – made a spur of the moment decision to get their belly buttons pierced.

Documenting the experience in an Instagram video, they said: “POV: You’re on a girls trip and hate your mum tums so decide to add a bit of spice.

“Top tip for anyone with a wrinkly belly button after kids, add some decoration.”

But their banter ended when mum-of-two Ash literally took a funny turn and fainted in the piercing parlour.

They later joked: “It’s all fun and games until Ash faints 3 times and needs the full crash team.”

In the video, Ash can be seen mouthing “I’m seeing stars” just moments before fainting.

She then hilariously crosses her arms and stages a resurrection at the end.

The clip has since gone viral, racking up more than 125,000 views on Instagram.

One social media user insisted: “I think you may have started a movement.”

“I really thought it was going to be a tattoo. But I love this”, wrote a second.

Someone else gushed: “This is bloody brilliant!!”

A fourth questioned: “Is it even a girls trip if you don’t get a tattoo or piercing?”

A fifth said: “Omg this is brilliant! Love you girls.”

Meanwhile, a sixth chimed in: “Love this. I got mine done after both kids to cover the wrinkles and now love it.”

Ash, Eilidh and Lauren started their popular podcast “for fun” and keep fans giggling with real life girly chat, shocking confessions and listener dilemmas.

They’ve since gone on to sell out a string of live shows across Scotland.
