Reds complete pre-season with two wins

The Reds completed their pre-season games with two wins giving a run-out to 33 players in the process.

Saturday 24 August (Upper Mains Park) 2pm KO

Linlithgow 34 – 33 Murrayfield Wanderers

A good run-out for the Reds, missing quite a few players, with two evenly matched teams. For the record, the Reds try scorers were Ross Martin (3), David Goudie, Ewan Curran and Gregor McLean.

Linlithgow 39 – 19 Stewarts Melville Select

This was an excellent hit out for both sides, with a fast-paced game and plenty of good attacking rugby. Stewarts Melville brought through a mix of senior players from their 1st and 2nd team squads and Linlithgow fielded a strong team, utilising a full bench, with a few senior players missing.

Ross Martin started where he left off on Saturday, with the game’s first try, but hat-trick honours tonight went to Ruaridh Stewart, with other tries coming from Archie Rusack, Luke O’Hara and David Goudie. Conor Findlay, who had an excellent all-round game added 2 conversions to complete the scoring.
