Mum pleads GUILTY to killing daughter, 10, after after ‘fun-loving’ youngster knifed to death at home
A MUM has admitted killing her ten-year-old daughter after the schoolgirl was stabbed to death at home.
Shay Kang was discovered at the property in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, on March 4.
The youngster was found dead at home[/caption]Her mum Jaskirat Kaur today pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility but denied murder.
The plea at Wolverhampton Crown Court was accepted by prosecutor Sally Howes KC.
Kaur was remanded into custody to appear for sentencing at the same court on October 25.
The horror unfolded when police were called to the home after a welfare officer was unable to get an answer.
An inquest heard previously how Shay died from stab wounds to the chest.
Tributes have flooded in for the youngster, who was a pupil at Brickhouse Primary School.
The school said in a statement: “Shay was a bright, happy, fun-loving child who was well liked by all and she will be very sadly missed by everyone.
“School is the heart of the community and we have already begun working with our children and staff to support them following this devastating news.”
While Shay’s godmother Kayleigh Colclough also told of her pain in a heartbreaking tribute.
She wrote: “I’ll miss you baby girl. My heart hurts.
“I’m not sure how I feel. I feel sick, numb, angry and a failure. I’m totally heartbroken.
“I’m so, so sorry baby girl. I’ll forever miss you but remember I’m bringing you justice.”
