Bruce Willis’ Daughter Offers Optimistic Update Amidst Actor’s Dementia Battle

Bruce Willis’ daughter, Tallulah Willis, gave People an update on her father’s ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Willis was diagnosed with FTD in March 2022, but his family waited until 2023 to publicly announce his diagnosis. Tallulah told the outlet that her father "doing the same in terms of the last we kind of updated, which I'm told is good," she reported. "But whatever kind of day it is, my family and I meet him where he's at."

Tallulah added that she’ll “go visit my dad and spend some time with him" as often as she’s able to, although it can be a highly emotional experience. She realized a while into Bruce’s battle with FTD that it’s important "to go into it open to what the visit is, and knowing that before I go in, I'm solid. I'm okay," she explained. "I've done what I need to do to make sure that I can just be present."

Tallulah’s remarks echo those made in January by her mother and Bruce’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, on Radio Andy. "I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they’re at," Moore said. "When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they’re not."

In June, Tallulah and Moore shared a joint Instagram post honoring Bruce on Father’s Day. "Happy Father’s Day to our favorite girl dad,” the post was captioned. “We love you, BW!"
