Celebrity Gladiators and Strictly star reveals hospital dash after suffering painful injury
Actress and comedian Ellie Taylor has revealed a recent hospital dash after suffering a painful leg injury while racing up a ramp.
While many assumed it might have been caused by her filming for the forthcoming series of the Celebrity Gladiators special, she was quick to point out an ironic turn of events.
Taking to her Instagram account last night she posted a picture of her with her leg in a protective orthopaedic boot.
Captioning the image she said: “A brutal, physically arduous day filming Celebrity Gladiators = no probs. 30 mins in a soft play with my daughter = visit to Urgent Care.”
She then revealed the unfortunate event: “Nothing like trying to show off in front of some children to bring you back down to earth with a bump.”
“Or a pop, which is what my calf muscle did as I heroically raced up a treacherous 3ft ramp.”
With the irony not lost on her followers, many were quick to offer support, with one saying; “You still look beautiful and giving off that gorgeous smile. Hope you’re ok.”
Another said: “Sending positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. You make it look good!”
Others said they hoped all of her filming for the forthcoming series was completed, given her injury.
The popular 90s game show, which was rebooted earlier this year in a second revival of the original 1992 series, has been recommissioned for a second series.
The first series was won by Finlay Anderson and Marie-Louise Nicholson.
Expected to air later in the year, the Celebrity Gladiators special, featuring four famous faces, was filmed alongside the second series of the Gladiators fitness challenge.
The iconic show sees competitors go up against 16 superhuman Gladiators in tasks of speed, strength and skill, before facing the iconic Eliminator to be crowned winner.
