Jenna Ortega Elevates Blazer Ensemble With Bright Red Platform Pumps for ‘Beetlejuice’ London Photocall

Jenna Ortega continues to pay sartorial homage to the original “Beetlejuice” as she goes on a whirlwind international press tour for Tim Burton’s sequel to his 1988 cult classic film. Ortega was a vision in red for a photocall at One Marylebone in London on Aug. 30, wearing a two-toned red outfit that referenced the oversized burgundy suit worn by Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice in the first film.

Following yesterday’s London premiere where she wore a Harris Reed dress and Brandon Blackwood heels, Ortega modeled a fitted maroon double-breasted blazer accented with a satiny red lapel. Meanwhile, the silhouette was dramatized with pointed shoulder pads. The outfit was well coordinated with her lapel matching her bright red tights and shoes.

Ortega’s press tour looks have repeatedly taken cues from characters in the original film — from Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz to Alec Baldwin’s Adam Maitland to Beetlejuice himself. Her accessories even nod to the original story; her purses have referenced the haunted house in the movie as well as The Handbook for the Recently Deceased.

A closer look at Jenna Ortega’s shoes.

Ortega’s bold shoes looked like a pair of patent leather red pumps from Le Silla. They feature a towering 145 mm stiletto heel at the top of a steeply arched sole. With a sizable platform, the shoes are pointed in front to create a sharp toe that aligned with the other angular elements of Ortega’s outfit. The shoes also feature slingback design with a strap encircling the ankle as well. The Le Silla pumps are currently available from Far Fetch for $970.

Ortega’s castmate Winona Ryder has strayed true to her character’s darkly gothic roots with her press tour looks. At this photocall, she wore a blazer with a flower adornment over a long skirt; she completed the ensemble with black leather boots. Ryder is a fan of comfortable shoes when it comes to red carpets — she recently revealed to Elle how painful shoes can affect a red carpet conversation.

She said in an interview alongside Ortega, “I mean, you can be talking to an absolute hero of yours, and if your feet are killing you, it really messes up the experience.”

Ortega agreed, saying, “Yes, it does. That’s so true, because you’re so in your head, you can’t focus on what’s being said because you just want to sit down.”

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” hits theaters on Sept. 6.
