Disturbance over Gulf has small chance of tropical development
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring the disturbance over the Gulf that has brought Acadiana rain over the last few days.
This is mostly an upper-level feature with little surface features, so chances of tropical development are slim. Regardless, heavy rain still looks possible over the next few days with 3-5" of rain possible.
It is doubtful that it will develop into a tropical depression or storm, but KLFY's weather team will watch it closely over the weekend.
