Sandro Muhlach files cyber libel complaint vs. netizens

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Sandro Muhlach filed a cyber libel complaint against several netizens at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division on Friday, August 30. 

According to a GMA News report, the Sparkle artist filed a complaint against three anonymous accounts on X (formerly Twitter) and that the complaint compiled over a hundred defamatory posts that talk about his alleged sexual abuse under GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz. 

Sandro’s grandfather, Alexander Muhlach, also released a statement to appeal for compassion from the public as the online scrutiny has affected the actor’s mental health. 

“The online harassment and bullying he has been subjected to are only worsening his condition. Sandro needs our compassion and support as he works towards recovery. We appreciate your understanding and respect for his journey towards healing,” he said, as quoted by GMA News.

 In late July, reports began circulating about a young actor who was allegedly sexually assaulted by two individuals described as “GMA executives.”

On August 1, GMA Network released a statement confirming that they had “received a formal complaint from Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against two GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.”

The network stated that they would “withhold all details of the formal investigation” to honor Muhlach’s request for confidentiality. GMA announced that they had launched an investigation into the matter.

On August 2, Muhlach Sandro filed a sexual molestation complaint against Nones and Cruz with the National Bureau of Investigation.

On August 19, Sandro filed a complaint of rape through sexual assault against Nones and Cruz before the Department of Justice

During the August 27 hearing, the 23-year-old actor also revealed that he was allegedly forced to use illegal drugs by Nones and Cruz before being sexually assaulted. Nones has repeatedly denied the allegations. – Rappler.com
