Transfer deadline day action at Arbroath

22.25 pm – INCOMING BRYNN SINCLAIR

We can announce the signing of New Zealander, Brynn Sinclair on a 1-year contract.

22-year-old defender, Brynn began his career at NZ National League side Green Island in his hometown of Dunedin before his moves to Birkenhead and North Shore United in Auckland. He then made the move to fellow National League side Petone based in Wellington in January 2022 where he remained until the end of his contract in January 2024.

Brynn made the move to Scotland recently and was keen to find a club where he could settle and work hard to gain experience and make an impact on the side. “I’m excited to get going here at Arbroath. I moved across here from NZ recently and did plenty of research into the clubs that are out there and Arbroath were one that everyone spoke very highly of. I was really impressed with the people in the club that I’ve met so far and they all have the common goal and desire to work hard and fight to get up the table. The Managers have been great through the process of signing and were really clear on what they expect from me and the team which I really liked as it gives me a personal goal to achieve as well as the wider team goals”.

Managers Colin and David said “Brynn was someone who came to us highly recommended through our contacts. Since coming in at the start of the week he has shown he has a great attitude to work for the club and is someone who wants to further develop as a player.”

Brynn will wear number 19 for the season

22.59pm – INCOMING RYAN FLYNN

Arbroath FC are delighted to announce the signing of experienced Midfielder, Ryan Flynn.

Ryan came through the academy ranks at Falkirk before moving to Liverpool in 2005 at the age of 16, going on to win two FA Youth Cup’s including scoring the winner vs Man City at Anfield before going on loan to Welsh sleeping giants, Wrexham.

A return to Falkirk in 2011 saw him make 69 appearances in all competitions before a move back south of the border to Sheffield United where he made 153 appearances in a 5-year spell. A move to Oldham was next, before he settled back in Scotland for St Mirren in 2018. Ryan made a total of 148 appearances for The Buddies and was described as a key member of the St Mirren squad over a number of seasons.

Ryan put pen to paper tonight on a 1-year deal and said “I’m really pleased to have signed for the club. I spoke with Colin and David this week and they outlined what their vision is for the club going forward and it sounded like it was just what I needed. There’s a really strong squad here and I think with the hard work and desire in the squad, we’ll do well.

I trained last night with the boys to get a feel for everything and everyone was incredibly welcoming and the standard of training was really high. Making the move from full-time to part-time was always going to be a new experience but the professionalism shown here feels just like a full-time environment. I’ve been in with St Mirren, keeping fit and training whilst I look for a move so I feel ready to hit the ground running and showing the fans what I can do”.

Colin Hamilton and David Gold said “Ryan is an a excellent player and a top professional, he is someone who we feel will bring great experience and be great for the team both on and off the park. We are delighted to have him join the us at club and are really looking forward to working with him.”

Ryan will wear number 20
