Fans were so happy to see 89-year-old Lee Corso return to College GameDay

When ESPN’s College GameDay officially kicked off the season in Dublin, Ireland last weekend, Lee Corso did not make the trip.

As the show’s first episode on campus prepared to go live from Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday, there was still a little concern over whether or not Corso would be there.

But when the lights turned on and the theme music began playing, there was Corso at 89 years old, sitting behind the desk between Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit looking absolutely giddy to be back on set.

The coach noted that this is his 38th year with ESPN and it truly feels like it’s been both longer and shorter for those who’ve been watching him all these seasons.

College football and GameDay fans were so happy to see Corso again. Now the season can officially start.
