3 injured, including 2 children, after jet ski, boat collide on Lake Travis, EMS says

LAKE TRAVIS, Texas (KXAN) — At least three people were injured, including two children, after a crash between a jet ski and a boat on Lake Travis Saturday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

ATCEMS said on social media the scene was near 16107 Wharf Cove, which is close to Volente.

ATCEMS reported that one adult and two children were declared trauma alerts.

The two children were taken to Dell Children's Medical Center. One child was transported by ATCEMS with potentially serious injuries, while the other child was transported by STAR Flight with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, ATCEMS said.

The adult was taken to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) said Texas Game Wardens and the Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash in addition to ATCEMS and Lake Travis Fire Rescue.

"Early reports indicate a collision between a recreational vessel and a personal watercraft (PWC)," TPWD said in a statement. "The occupants of the PWC, one adult and two minors, were transported to area hospitals."

The Texas Game Warden Forensics Reconstruction and Mapping Team will investigate the crash, according to TPWD. The investigation is still open.
