Inside Oasis support act Blossoms’ very sweet gesture at a care home as residents are left ‘star-struck’
OASIS’s reunion tour support act Blossoms has melted hearts by making a surprise appearance at a care home for their new music video.
The six-piece group, originally from Stockport, appeared at a string of local Manchester businesses including a farm, a dance school and a taekwondo class, for their new single, Perfect Me.

But it was the fleeting appearance of lead singer Tom Ogden at Berrycroft Manor Care Home in Romiley that really caught fans’ attention.
Berrycroft Manor is a specialist care facility for older people who have dementia.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, care home manager Michael Blissett said they “jumped at the chance” to get involved in the special project.
He said: “It’s something exciting for the residents to get involved in.
“Their day-to-day can be quite monotonous sometimes so we try to fill it with things that are spontaneous and bring them some fun and joy.”
Tom spent three hours at the care home in July to film the scene, and Blissett revealed he stayed around afterwards to sign autographs and take pictures with the residents and staff.
“Tom was fantastic. He was really lovely and that was the biggest bit about it for us,” he said.
“There’s a lot of routine in what we do, so giving three hours out of the day for this was a big thing that we just had to go with, but everyone from the crew to the band made the residents feel really special.”
He added that while didn’t think the residents knew who he was, they were “starstruck by the tall rockstar” as he performed in their lounge.
Some residents were also invited to play instruments in the video.
“One of the ladies was telling one of their visitors about it, and she was saying just how lucky they were to be in something like that,” he added.
“She said she was having her five seconds of fame and it’s not the kind of thing they get the opportunity to do at their age.”
The appearance came while their supporting act slot on the upcoming Oasis tour was kept heavily under wraps.
The massive Oasis Live 25 Tour has already sold out all 17 dates – with thousands of fans disappointed after a ‘car crash’ of a system on Ticketmaster dropping them out of the hundred-thousand strong queue.
Blossoms also supported Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds earlier this year, when they played a special show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
A source said: “Noel and Liam and Blossoms have been friends for years and with the band also coming from Manchester asking them to support Oasis was a no brainer.
“It will be announced in due course but Blossoms have agreed to support Oasis at their Heaton park shows – naturally they jumped at the chance.
“It’s a full circle moment for them as members Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan’s first ever gig was at Oasis at Heaton Park.”
