NFL Rookie Ricky Pearsall Shot in Robbery Attempt, is in "Stable but Serious' Condition
Ricky Pearsall, a new recruit for the San Francisco 49ers, was shot on Saturday (August 31) in an attempted robbery.
The 23-year-old wide receiver is an NFL rookie and was recruited by the team earlier this year.
According to a San Francisco Police Department statement obtained by People, police “located two male subjects suffering from injuries” on the scene in San Francisco, Calif.
Both men were taken to the hospital, and the suspect was taken into custody with an investigation ongoing.
The 49ers also issued a statement providing insight into Ricky‘s condition.

“San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and shooting this afternoon. He sustained a bullet wound to his chest and is in serious but stable condition,” the team shared in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter). “We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family.”
