Severe rainfall causes flooding and damage in Vijayawada; IMD issues 5-day warning

Heavy rainfall on Sunday caused severe flooding in the Rama Krishna Puram area of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, submerging houses and cars. Police and NDRF teams have started rescue operations, moving residents to rehabilitation centres. The IMD has issued a weather warning for the next five days. A house collapse in Mogalrajapuram on Saturday killed one woman due to a rockfall caused by rain.
