Police fine 20 venues overnight for noise pollution

Police conducted noise pollution tests overnight at nightclubs across Cyprus, resulting in 20 fines against owners, authorities said on Sunday.

Police said that 69 venues were checked, and 20 were found to be in violation of the law.

According to police, the violations included mostly operating without licences, selling spirits illegally, and noise pollution.

In two cases in Paphos, police seized speakers and equipment after it was found the venues did not have licences.

Those two shops were also fined for selling alcohol without licencing.
