COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A former Gahanna Lincoln football player was found not guilty on all charges for his involvement in a car crash that killed three people in October of 2019.

Kobie Stillwell was charged on three felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one felony count of aggravated vehicular assault, but on Thursday a jury determined he was not guilty for his role in the crash.

The trial presented two different causes: one of reckless driving and one of an epileptic seizure. According to Stillwell's lawyer, Sam Shamansky, Stillwell has an epilepsy diagnosis that contributed to the crash, which the defense said occurred when Stillwell had a seizure.

On Oct. 12, 2019, Stillwell was driving on Morse Road near the intersection of Sunbury Road when the car he was driving crashed into another, causing severe injuries and three deaths. According to Ron O'Brien, Franklin County Prosecutor at the time of Stillwell's indictment, Stillwell was driving at an extremely high speed when he crashed into a family's vehicle.

The mother, Kumari Biswakarma, 40, and her daughter, Anju Biswakarma, 24, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The woman's younger daughter was taken to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition. The front seat passenger in Stillwell's vehicle, 17-year-old JaShawn Scott, was also taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

Stillwell and a 17-year-old back seat passenger were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a Facebook post Friday, Scott's mother said she felt the justice system failed her son, but said she has closure knowing he did not suffer, and recalled saying goodbye to him in the hospital.
