Rain hits some areas, with more storms expected throughout the week

Strong rains were witnessed across some areas of the island on Sunday, with the weather set to clear up into the evening, the met office said.

There were storms in the areas of Klirou, Athienou, and Psimolofou, among other areas.

The temperature in the evening is set to fall to 20 degrees Celsius inland, 22 on the coast, and 14 in the mountains.

On Monday the weather is expected to be mostly clear in most of the island. Clouds are expected in the mountains and the western coast.

There will be isolated showers in some areas throughout the day. In storms hail may fall, the met office said.

Temperatures will rise to 34 degrees inland, 31 on the coast, and 23 in the mountains.

Isolated storms expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
