Bangladesh's remittance reaches over 4 bln USD in July-August

DHAKA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshis living and working abroad remitted back more than 4 billion U.S. dollars in the July-August period, central bank data showed on Sunday.

According to the data, remittance, one of key sources of foreign exchange for the impoverished nation, surged 39 percent year-on-year to 2.22 billion dollars in August.

Remittance was 1.91 billion dollars in July.
