Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz Show off Their Hair Transformations in Super-Rare Public Outing in Venice

Just because Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz don’t make a habit of public appearances doesn’t mean that the ultra-private celebrity couple doesn’t make a splash any time they do. Known for their discretion, even more so than the secret agent role of James Bond that catapulted Craig to fame, the couple turned heads on September 1 in Venice. Arriving just two days before the premiere of Craig’s latest film at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 3, they captured attention — especially with Craig’s new shaggy blond hairstyle.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz arrived at Marco Polo Airport looking effortlessly cool. Craig kept it casual with a white t-shirt and jeans, but it was his new long blond hair, an undone look that is supposedly tied to the reprisal of his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in the third installment of the Knives Out series, that completed the chill jet-setter vibe. The whodunit is set for release in 2025.

Weisz totally matched his vibe, looking both stylish and relaxed in a black dress and sunglasses as they navigated the Italian airport. Weisz’s hair looked like it just received a blowout but still matched the low-key look of her husband of 13 years, as you can see in the photos obtained by Daily Mail.

The couple’s appearance comes as Craig gears up for the premiere of Queer, a historical romance drama set in 1940s Mexico City and directed by Luca Guadagnino, the director who brought us Call Me By Your Name and Challengers. Craig takes on the role of William Lee, an American expat who becomes infatuated with a younger man, played by Drew Starkey. The film, based on William S. Burroughs’ novel, is set to compete for the prestigious Golden Lion at the festival.

Beyond all the promotion at the film festival, Craig and Weisz have always kept their personal lives just that. They first met in 1994 while co-starring in the play Les Grandes Horizontales at the National Theatre Studio in London. However, it wasn’t until they reconnected in 2010 on the set of Dream House that romance blossomed, leading to their secret marriage in 2011. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2011, attended by just four guests, including Craig’s daughter Ella and Weisz’s son Henry.

Despite her initial reluctance towards marriage, Weisz found herself happily changing her tune after her reunion with Craig. “I never thought I would get married,” the actress told The Evening Standard back in 2018, per People. “It was not an ambition of mine. It was the opposite. I couldn’t relate to romantic comedies — marriage seems to be the whole point of them. Then it just happened, happily, at a more mature moment,” she added.

The couple shares a daughter, Grace, born in 2018, and both have children from previous relationships. Weisz has an 18-year-old son, Henry, with director Darren Aronofsky, and Craig has a 32-year-old daughter, Ella, with actress Fiona Loudon.

As the 81st Venice International Film Festival rolls out this week, Craig and Weisz are among the few A-listers who prefer privacy yet find themselves in the spotlight, much like George and Amal Clooney, who made looked nothing short of glamorous at the very same airport just the day before.
