Triantis Frustrated With Kilmarnock Result

“I’m frustrated for the team and with the result” said Nectar Triantis as he looked back on Hibernian FC’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

Triantis joined the Club on Deadline Day (Friday 30 August, 2024) and had one training session with his teammates before starting as a defensive midfielder at Rugby Park.

The 21-year-old, though, took the game in his stride and put in a stellar performance, almost helping Hibs take all three points.

Unfortunately, though, an injury time penalty meant the Hibees only took one point away from Ayrshire.

“I thought we were the better team and looked like we were going to take the three points, which would’ve been very good on the road,” said Triantis.

“On a personal note, it was very good to start and play 90 minutes for this club again. I felt good out there but I’m not at my sharpest yet. There’s plenty more to come from me.

“I think I did my job today. I know what the gaffer expects from me, and I tried to implement that today, but unfortunately, we could only get a draw.”

The Australian received an excellent reception from the travelling Hibs fans, and he’s delighted to be playing in-front of them again.

“It was very good (to be back playing for them). Results haven’t been going our way and unfortunate at times, but the fans have always been good to us.

“Today there were 1,200 singing and chanting all game, which gave us that extra lift.”

We’re now heading into the first international break of the 2024/25 campaign and our defensive midfielder believes that’ll help the Hibees.

“The break has come at a good time. We have players returning from injury and players like myself that have just come in.

“We can use the two weeks to get going and use it to get the results we’re after.”
