Cyclist fatally struck by van in Williamsburg: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 46-year-old cyclist was fatally struck by a van in Williamsburg Sunday morning, according to the NYPD. 

The cyclist was riding northbound on Union Avenue near Lynch Street around 11:30 a.m. Sunday he was struck by a van also traveling northbound, according to police. The van struck a parked car after hitting the cyclist, police said. 

The cyclist was rushed to an area hospital and pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.
