Pedestrian killed after struck by tractor-trailer, Lafayette police say
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A pedestrian who was stuck by a tractor-trailer early Sunday has died from their injuries, Lafayette police say.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, the incident happened on I-49 near Gloria Witch Overpass at around 7 a.m. Sunday.
"The pedestrian was standing on the shoulder of I-49 and intentionally stepped into the roadway, directly in front of the 18-wheeler," police said in a news release.
The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.
