Naoya Inoue and TJ Doheny meet on Tuesday, plus more!

Tuesday, Sep. 3

ESPN+, 5:45 am ET, Naoya Inoue vs TJ Doheny. The Monster returns! Future hall-of-famer and living legend of the sport Naoya Inoue brings his latest pile of undisputed belts to face TJ Doheny – a tough, rugged, honest fighter, but one that’s 37 years old and already has four losses to men nowhere near Inoue’s level. On the undercard, Yoshiki Takei defends his WBO bantamweight belt, and everyone’s favorite great-grandpa, Ismael Barroso, faces undefeated Andy Hiraoka. Scott will be awake early for this one, and you should strongly consider joining him. BLH will have live coverage and updates.

TrillerTV+, 8:00 pm ET, CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing! Absolutely, 100% just as good as watching an Inoue fight, but without the sleep deprivation. BoxRec says Curtis Harper is on this show, so we can all watch together and shout WATERBAG!! Your musical performance this time is Cowboy Calvin, not to be confused with Cowboy Curtis, the delightful supporting character on Pee Wee’s Playhouse played by Academy Award-nominated actor Laurence Fishburne.

Thursday, Sep. 5

ESPN+, 9:00 pm ET, Arthur Biyarslanov vs Marcos Villasana. An Eye of the Tiger show out of Montreal. Looks like Spanish language broadcast only for this one.

Friday, Sep. 6

DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, Kevin Brown vs John Bauza. Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions brings you the latest and greatest from an Orlando hotel that’s just two miles away from Disney World. The guy from Euphoria was originally on this show, but he’s not anymore. If you’re in the area, I’m not telling you what to do… But, would you rather give Jake Paul money to keep doing these shows? Or, would you rather drive just under four minutes to see Mickey Mouse’s “Boo to You” Not-So-Scary Halloween-themed parade and fireworks show happening at the same time?

DAZN, 10:00 pm ET, Jose Zepeda vs Ivan Redkach. MarvNation and the City of Temecula, California bring you arguably the most notable fight of the extended weekend. Biggest names, at least! Action fights like his generational war with Ivan Baranchyk seem to have finally caught up with Zepeda, who is 1-3 in his last four outings. But, hey! So is Redkach, and they’ve both lost to Regis Prograis in that time! Zepeda brings action, Redkach offers the potential for craziness. Remember when Redkach bit Danny Garcia and got suspended for a year? Remember when he tried to get Regis Prograis disqualified for a low blow that didn’t actually land low? Why, there’s no telling what monkeyshines he might get himself into this time!

Saturday, Sep. 7

DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Elliot Whale vs Lloyd Germain. A Top Tier Boxing (that’s the name of the promotional company) show out of Brentwood, England. Undercard features Dale “The Choirboy” Arrowsmith, a British journeymen’s journeyman opponent, entering with a 6-111-5 professional record. He’s got three more fights lined up after this one and before October 5th. Good on him, and I hope he avoids any cuts that might cost him those checks.
