Sarah Michelle Gellar & Freddie Prinze Jr’s New Photo Shows How Their Romance Is Defying All Hollywood Odds

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr were simply meant to be, and their new anniversary photo shows it.

On Sept 1, Gellar and Prinze Jr shut down all the breakup rumors, and all the naysayers who had doubts about their relationship with a single snapshot. She posted the photo to her Instagram with the caption reading, “22 @realfreddieprinze ????????????????.”

In the snapshot, we see Gellar and Prinze Jr smiling from ear to ear as they cozy up to one another. We see then on the porch overlooking a beach setting, both looking so glowy and content. Prinze is in a gray tee-shirt, while Gellar is in a lacy white trimmed, black top, which she paired with delicate gold jewelry.

They look so, so stunning together, and fans are elated to see them thriving after 20+ years together.

For those who don’t know, the two originally met on the set of the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 1997. They remained friends for years before going on their first official date in 2000. In 2001, they got engaged, and in the following year, they got hitched and later welcomed two children named Charlotte Grace, born in Sept 2009, and Rocky James, born in Sept 2012.

In a previous interview with SheKnows, Gellar talked to us about how she and Prinze Jr parent together, and how she knew parenting with him would be great; and her mindset on motherhood.

“I think, ultimately, it’s just sort of a change in mindset,” Gellar said. “Because even though I was married for ten years [before Rocky was born], my husband was an adult, and I knew he could take care of himself. But all of a sudden, in your mind, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you’re worried about these little beings in an incredibly all consuming, beautiful but stressful way.”
