Adele Taking an Extended Break After Las Vegas Residency
More like goodbye from the other side. Adele announced at her Munich show August 31 that she’s taking a long break once her Las Vegas residency is over. “I just need a rest,” she said. “I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.” Presumably this life-living includes tying the knot with longtime bf (now official fiancé) Rich Paul.
August 31’s show in Germany was supposed to conclude Adele’s tour, but several dates in Las Vegas were rescheduled back in April (per Pitchfork). The singer has been performing in Vegas off and on since 30 came out, and also added a mini-residency in Munich to her duties. The 80,000 capacity venue was built for her. She’s been hinting at this break since July 2024, but her words in Munich made it that much more definite. “I have 10 shows left after this, back in my residency… but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break,” she said. “I want to live my new life that I’ve been building. I’ll miss you terribly, but I’ll remember these shows for eternity.”
