Metro neighborhoods without water over Labor Day weekend
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Many metro neighborhoods were without water over the holiday weekend.
Michael Butterfield lives in a neighborhood near 122nd and Council. He says he's been without water for more than 24 hours.
"It's surprising when you don't have water, what you can't get done. Can't get clothes or wash or anything," says Butterfield.
He also says, "You just hope and pray that you're going to get water the next day."
Butterfield tells News 4, water main breaks happen frequently in his neighborhood.
"It's been about three or four in the last couple of months at least, if not a little bit more," says Butterfield.
News 4 reached out to Oklahoma City's Water/Sewer 24/7 Emergency Line. A woman confirmed over the phone, as of Sunday evening there are about 10 water main breaks across the metro.
Butterfield says he's frustrated with the lack of communication regarding the breaks.
He says he thinks the construction in his neighborhood may be to blame for all the water main breaks.
The woman from Oklahoma City's Water/Sewer 24/7 Emergency Line said all water main breaks should be restored by Monday morning.
