UFC 308 gets several new bouts for Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway fight card
Shara Magomedov looks to stay undefeated when he takes on Armen Petrosyan at UFC 308.
The middleweight matchup was one of several officially announced by UFC on Monday, joining previously confirmed bouts Myktybek Orolbai vs. Mateusz Rebecki and Ibo Aslan vs. Raffael Cerqueira. In addition, MMA Fighting confirmed bantamweights Farid Basharat vs. Victor Hugo have also joined the Oct. 26 event.
Red Corner MMA first reported the news of Magomedov vs. Petrosyan, while Ag Fight first reported Basharat vs. Hugo.
Magomedov debuted in the UFC in 2023 with plenty of hype behind him and despite some inconsistency in his performances, he’s seen his hand raised in his first three appearances for the promotion. Most recently, “Shara Bullet” earned a unanimous decision nod over Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC Abu Dhabi this past August to improve his record to 14-0.
Petrosyan makes his second appearance of 2024 after suffering a first-round submission loss to Rodolfo Vieira at a UFC APEX event in February. The Russian-Armenian standout is now 3-2 since being signed off of the Contender Series in 2021, with wins over Christian Leroy Duncan, AJ Dobson, and Gregory Rodrigues.
Basharat and Hugo are both unbeaten in the UFC since joining the organization off Contender Series. Basharat has won all three of his octagon appearances, while Hugo was victorious in his promotional debut this past April.
UFC 308 takes place at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and airs exclusively on ESPN+ pay-per-view. The event is headlined by featherweight champion Ilia Topuria defending against “BMF” champion Max Holloway.
