Popular Lawrence sunflower field nearing full bloom
LAWRENCE (KSNT) - The sunflowers of Lawrence's Grinter Farms are days away from reaching their full bloom.
Owner Ted Grinter said he had to delay planting the seeds a few days this year because the ground was too wet, so the flowers are blooming a little late.
"By this coming weekend we're gonna have a full bloom and it'll look really nice," Grinter said.
Grinter told 27 News the farm also have a store with all locally made goods as well.
"We're having a great time out here," He said. "Come on out! We got all kinds of great food, we've got Frog Hoppin' Barbeque. There's over eighty different things in the store to pick from."
Grinter said they've had some problems with people cutting the flowers early and asks those coming before next to not cut any flowers so everyone can enjoy them.
