Karzai condemns deadly suicide attack on prosecutors in Kabul

Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, has condemned the attack among the employees of the Afghanistan Attorney General’s Office, which resulted in the deaths of six individuals. He has labeled the attack as a “terrorist act.”

On Monday, September 2, Karzai expressed his “sympathy” to the families of the victims of the suicide attack in Kabul through a message posted on X/Twitter.

The explosion occurred yesterday around 4:15 PM in front of the Afghanistan Attorney General’s Office in the area of “Qala-e-Bakhtiaruddin” in the Darulaman district of Kabul.

Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command, confirmed that six civilians, including one woman, were killed, and 13 others were injured as a result of the explosion. He emphasized that this was a suicide attack and that an investigation into the incident had been launched.

The British Embassy’s chargé d’affaires for Afghanistan also condemned the attack and extended condolences to the families of the victims. The embassy added that Afghanistan, after decades of war and violence, needs peace and tranquillity.

Reports indicate that the explosion occurred as “employees of the Taliban Command and Investigation Department” were heading home from work.
