Violent bully who beat up girlfriend is left with huge black eye after vigilante onlooker punched him in the face
A VIOLENT bully who beat up his girlfriend has been left with a huge black eye after vigilante onlookers punched him in the face.
Ryan Parker, 32, had been “excessively” sinking drinks at the pub before turning up on his girlfriend’s doorstep where he screamed at her that she deserved to die and landed multiple blows to her face.
As a sick and twisted Parker continued to launch punches and kick his partner of 14 years as she lay in the doorway to her home, onlookers intervened.
The group interrupted Parker’s viscous attack, beating him so severely he was left with a black eye, a fractured eye socket and a broken cheekbone.
Hull Crown Court heard Parker and the woman’s relationship became turbulent over the years.
On July 28 this year, the thug had returned angry after playing darts with pals at the pub.
He then slapped the woman with such force she fell to the ground where she was subjected to a litany of punches and kicks.
Oliver Shipley, prosecuting, said the victim was left with swelling and bruising to her face, head and body.
The door to the house was open at the time and Parker threatened anybody who tried to go in and help her with a knife, Mr Shipley added.
He said: “The defendant was threatening anybody who tried to help.
“She eventually managed to get out of the property through the door and out into the street, where she screamed for help.
“The defendant continued his behaviour on the street while in possession of a knife.”
After following the woman out of the house and verbally abusing a neighbour, Parker went back to the property where armed cops arrested him.
The woman has been left living everyday in fear and is scared about the safety of her children.
She said: “I do not want Parker anywhere near my property or my children.
“I am truly broken and shocked about the whole situation.”
All of this was fuelled plainly by excessive drink. It was a sustained assault. This is a very serious matter
Judge Timothy Clayson
Ben Hammersley, mitigating, said Parker’s injuries were from when he was set on by others.
He said: “He suffered a fractured eye socket and a fractured cheekbone.
“When he came to, having been knocked unconscious, he was fearful that he was still being assaulted.”
Mr Hammersley claimed it was out of Parker’s character to act in the way he did.
He added: “This was an isolated incident. He has no desire to contact her whatsoever.”
But Judge Timothy Clayson said it was a “sustained assault fuelled by excessive drinking”.
He told Parker: “You became abusive to her before becoming violent. She described you slapping her, pushing her around and trying to force her out of the door, in the course of which she was caused to fall to the floor.
“She described violence to the face with numerous punches to the face.
“All of this was fuelled plainly by excessive drink. It was a sustained assault. This is a very serious matter.
“The overall offences here are so serious that only immediate custody is appropriate.
“There was a serious risk of disorder by your production of this knife.”
Parker admitted assaulting the woman, causing actual bodily harm, possessing a knife and using threatening words or behaviour.
He was jailed for 20 months at Hull Crown Court and given a six-year restraining order.
