High school football rankings Week 2, 2024: Bay Area News Group Top 25
A dramatic first week of the season had led to notable changes to the Bay Area News Group’s high school football rankings.
Serra, which had the best win in Week 1, a 22-21 upset victory at Folsom, jumped from No. 4 to No. 2 in this week’s rankings.
Are the Padres the Bay Area’s best team? We’ll find out when the San Mateo school traveled to No. 1 De La Salle on Friday.
Serra’s ascent bumps Riordan and Pittsburg down a spot despite both teams winning Friday.
St. Francis jumps into the Top 5 after the Lancers traveled south to La Mesa and crushed Helix 35-14 one year after the San Diego-area school routed St. Francis in Mountain View.
Monte Vista moves up a few spots after it routed Granada, and Wilcox, Campolindo and Clayton Valley Charter all lost.
Welcome to the rankings Santa Teresa and Salesian.
