First 'Korea Fest' brings K-food and culture to New York City

LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (PIX11) -- A new cultural festival is bringing the most popular Korean street foods to the streets of New York City.

You can get your fill of all things K-food and culture at the first “Korea Fest” in Long Island City this Saturday. The free food festival runs from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m at Culture Lab LIC, located at 5-25 46th Avenue.

Foodies can enjoy popular staples like Korean-style fried chicken, spicy rice cakes, and bibimbap as well as try newer tastes like Korean-Southern fusion food and gelato flavored like rice punch.

Visitors will also be able to shop from Korean makeup brands like “lilybyred” and accessories booths. All the excitement will unfold to the sound of K-pop music from DJ Poon and will include performances throughout the day.

Although this inaugural event is free to the public, those planning to attend should RSVP online.
