The fatal stabbing happened at a home in Oldbury last Thursday

Emergency services raced to Lovett Avenue in the Oldbury area at around 4pm.

They battled to save Jahziah’s life but the schoolboy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both suspects, who cannot be named because of their ages, were arrested on Sunday.

West Midlands Police also arrested a man in his 40s who has since been charged with assisting an offender.

Jahziah’s family are now being supported by specialist officers – with his heartbroken mum today paying tribute to her “loving” son.

She said: “Jahziah was a very polite, kind and family-orientated young man.

“He was very loving and always smiling. His smile would light up the room. He was very kind-hearted.”

Flowers, candles and teddies were left in tribute outside the semi-detached home last week.

One young mum said on Friday: “Jahziah was a good kid, an amazing kid.

“He was friends with my son the same age and would come round to our house and go upstairs and listen to music.”

She added: “My son is absolutely sobbing. He can’t believe this is happening.”

Two teen boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today charged with Jahziah’s murder.

They were remanded into youth detention accommodation to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.

A man in his 40s who has been charged with assisting an offender between August 29 and September 1 also appeared in a separate hearing.

He was remanded into custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Birmingham Crown Court on October 1.

The defendant also cannot be named for legal reasons. Police are not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.

Cops are now urging anyone with information to come forward and get in touch via Live Chat or call 101, quoting log 3204 of 29/8/24.

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
