Vanessa Williams was still in summer mode when she attended Day 8 of the 2024 US Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center on Sept. 2 in the Flushing Meadows neighborhood in New York City.
The actress looked chic and timeless wearing a pair of Canadian footwear brand Ron White‘s Shelly sandals in the color Onyx, currently available at $495, that were the highlight of her outfit. According to the designer’s website, the Shelly Wedge Sandal is made in Italy out of weatherproof woven leather.
The shoe is made perfect for the unpredictable New York weather and the hustle and bustle of the tennis tournament. It features double padding, a black ankle strap with an adjustable buckle and an anti-slip rubber outsole.
The shoe is also made with Ron’s All Day Heels technology, which included NASA created PORON cushioning. The shoe features a 3-inch heel and a small platform to add a bit of a boost without adding discomfort. The sandal also has a tan strap across the upper that sits comfortably right at the base of the toes, which highlighted the “Ugly Betty” alum’s bright red pedicure.
Williams paired the look with a custom handbag from the late designer Harl Taylor, as well as white linen trousers and a black and white print quarter sleeve top. She wore her hair up in a loose bun, as well as black shades and silver hoops.
The US Open is known for bringing out the who is who of tennis fans. Aside from Williams, the championships have gathered a crowd of impressive stars including Serena Williams, Anna Wintour, Vera Wang, Kerry Washington, Misty Copeland, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Katie Couric, Billie Jean King, and more.
