Live Action 'How to Train Your Dragon' Movie Cast Unveiled - 8 Actors Join Franchise & 1 Voice Actor Reprises Role

A live action version of How to Train Your Dragon is in the works!

The new adaptation was first announced over a year ago, in February 2023, with the original film series’ writer/director Dean DeBlois returning in both roles.

Filming on the pic began in January and wrapped in May.

Based on the books by Cressida Cowell, the first movie followed Hiccup, a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful, feel-good hit.

While the movie moves through post-production, we are taking a look at all of the actors who have been cast in the live action movie, including one person who is reprising their role from the animated films!
