Boy, 17, obsessively listened to same two lines of Beatles track before brutally butchering mum, dad and brother, 12

A TEEN who murdered his brother and parents on his dad’s birthday had been listening to the same two lines of a Beatles song nonstop.

The 17-year-old, named only as Riccardo C., admitted to brutally killing his father Fabio, 51, his mother Daniela, 49, and his 12-year-old brother Lorenzo with a kitchen knife.

On Sunday’s horror attack, the Italian teenager from Paderno Dugnano, near Milan, first hit his sleeping brother.

Lorenzo’s shouts woke up their parents, who hurried into his bedroom.

Unaware that his eldest was the attacker, the panicked father yelled for his help, only to then be killed by his own son.

Riccardo confessed to stabbing his dad more than once, giving gruesome detail of the killing, Italian outlet Il Difforme reports.

The teen told cops that he killed his family to “live more freely” after becoming obsessed with The Beatles‘ The Long and Winding Road in a chilling confession.

He said he listened to the lines “Many times I’ve been alone / And many times I’ve cried” over and over, local media reports.

The killer teenager claimed he did not want his family “to suffer” as he slaughtered them.

The boy also told detectives he had “no real reason” for killing his mum, dad, and brother, but said he felt “oppressed” and wanted to “free myself from this discomfort”.

He added that these feelings had surfaced only a few hours following the celebration of his dad’s 51st birthday.

Riccardo first told authorities a made-up account of how he saw his father kill his mother and brother before grabbing a knife and stabbing him, Italian media reported.

When he went inside his brother’s room on the second floor of the family house, the 17-year-old told police, he found Chiarioni seated on a chair with the knife next to him.

Before he attacked his father, he informed the officers, his sibling was dead in his bed and his mother’s body lay on the ground by his father’s feet.

But the youngster showed no physical signs of struggle, so cops were not persuaded by the statement and the truth came to light during a second interrogation.

After the brutal murders, Riccardo reportedly called the police right away and reported to the Italian emergency services that he had killed his father with a knife.

“I killed my dad, come,” the child reportedly told cops after the attack, according to L’unione Sarda.

After spending the entire Sunday being questioned by detectives, the boy was arrested for his murdering spree, Ansa reports.

According to judicial officials, the motivation for the triple homicide is yet unknown.

“It will be necessary to wait for a long time before explaining such an atrocious gesture,” they declared.

Juvenile prosecutor Sabrina Ditaranto told reporters on Sunday: “The boy understood that he had done something irreversible, he expressed his own discomfort, not related to the family.

“From a judicial point of view we do not have a technically valid motive.

“From a sociological and psychological point of view obviously the investigations are open.”

Friends of the family and Paderno Dugnano Mayor Anna Varisco expressed horror upon learning of the horrific killings.

She told Italian media: “They were a normal, serene family, not followed by social services and described by everyone as not having problems.”

Flowers and tributes were seen laid outside the family’s home.

Neighbours said the family was quiet, well-off, and hard-working, according to Il Messaggero.
