Loic Bade signs a new long-term deal with Sevilla, but a release clause has been included which might catch the eye of any potential suitors in the future.

Loic Bade’s reputation is growing

Bade has impressed since his move to Sevilla back in January of 2023, with the La Liga club making the loan move permanent last summer.

The centre-back’s reputation has grown considerably over the last 18 months as he has established himself as the linchpin of the Andalusian club’s backline.

The 24-year-old was even part of the France squad for the Olympics this summer and is reportedly being eyed by several big clubs around Europe, including Spurs.

Loic Bade admitted Spurs were interested

In fact, the defender himself revealed back in February of this year that Tottenham were keen on signing him, admitting that he was honoured that a club of the Lilywhites’ stature wanted him (Estadio Deportivo).

Tottenham seemingly did not reignite their interest in Bade this summer and it has now been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that the player has penned a new five-year deal at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The journalist clarified that the former Rennes star is now protected by a release clause of €50m (£42.1m).

Tottenham likely abandoned their pursuit of Bade when they made the decision to sign Radu Dragusin back in January.

However, I would not be surprised if the Sevilla star ends up back in the Premier League by next summer as his stock continues to rise.
