Check out new Mercedes-Benz GLB at CiC showrooms

The refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLB can now be found at the CiC showrooms, offering a host of upgrades, both in terms of design and technology. A model that only made its appearance in the Mercedes-Benz range in 2019, making its way to the markets the following year. The German company, wishing to follow up on the success of the GLB, went for a substantial refresh, making the latest model even more attractive by equipping it with the best it has to offer in terms of comfort, safety and connectivity.

On the outside, the refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLB is distinguished by its newly-designed front bumper and new grille, while the accentuated corners form a dynamic ensemble. The LED headlamps are also new, and the standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels with a new design. In terms of the options, one can also choose wheels of up to 20 inches.

The interior of the model is also noticeably upgraded, with the independent dual screen dominating. Its standard equipment includes a 7-inch instrument display and a 10.25-inch multimedia screen, while with the advance plus package two 10.25-inch screens are available as standard.

Important to note is that the GLB’s standard equipment has been greatly upgraded giving the prospective buyer the opportunity for more personalisation via a range of optional items and equipment packages on offer.

The steering wheel is upholstered in leather, while the standard equipment includes ARTICO synthetic leather and black embossed fabric trim.

A total of four interior trim colours are available.

The updated GLB features the latest generation of MBUX, with the newly-designed display offering all the needful information for the driver, and can be customised to suit his or her own style.

Meanwhile, the brand’s intelligent voice assistance now has more features, thanks to online services that can be activated from the Mercedes me app. The system slowly learns the driver’s preferences and memorises the settings, or even the routes, he or she usually takes. At the right time, it suggests personalised infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions, perfectly tailored to the driving conditions.

Mercedes-Benz has equipped the new GLB with a host of safety assistance systems that are available even in higher-end models. Some of these include active power steering, lane-keeping assist, parallel parking with 360-degree projection and for the first time the GLB offers trailer manoeuvring assistance with camera camera support.

The model is available in Cyprus with three four-cylinder engine options, with horsepower ranging from 136 to 224 hp. Two petrol engines and one diesel engine, all with a seven or eight-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission.

At the same time, all engines are mildly hybrid, as they have an additional 48 volt electric system offering more performance and better fuel economy. The model also ensures more comfort and allows driving at a constant speed with the engine switched off.  The range starts with the GLB180 and GLB200 versions, with the 1332 cc engine producing 136 and 163 hp respectively, followed by the two-litre performance GLB 220 available with the 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive system. The top of the range GLB 250 with 224 hp is also available with all-wheel drive. The two-litre diesel engine supplies the GLB 20d and 220d with 150 and 190 hp respectively.
