Season 19 Episode 15 Rankings:

11. Oscar Stembridge: On a night where only five acts wowed me, there were a few that really forgot to improve on their auditions. The worst of these offenders was this young singer. Vocally, he sounded good, but he also was as exciting to watch as drying paint, to be honest. Song choice did him no favors. Nice guitar though.

10. L6: After a memorable audition, L6 had a follow-up performance that was not quite on par. From the song choice to the wardrobe styling, this all felt very dated and somewhat boring. Vocally, they can sing the phonebook and make it sound good, so bonus points for that.

9 Tonikaku: This was bizarre to me to be honest. From the video package to the performance itself, all I kept thinking was “This made it in but the foot spinner did not?” Make it make sense NBC. He was memorable due to the production of it all though, so he had a small win. I would never want to see him again.

8. Sebastián and Sonia: After that video package, I was torn since he would be performing alone. Half the magic of this act was Sonia in my eyes. As a solo act, Sebastián more than held his own. In any other week, he would have been in my top three, but with Kelsey Jane already in the next round…their performance was not as memorable. Simon’s Golden Buzzer sent them to the finals, but I really think they will be overshadowed by more memorable acts.

7. Stephanie Rainey: This performance was solid, but vocally she did not sound as good her audition. Saying that, the song choice was actually great. The judges also were conflicted on this one, so I was in good company.

6. Erica Rhodes: Erica’s audition was a highlight for me, so I was very disappointed that her follow-up was so underwhelming. She would have great material for a sitcom though. There is a chance she could sneak into the Top 5 tomorrow. “SNL” should hire her!

5. Solange Kardinaly: Every act from here to the top spot are the ones that I think have a shot at advancing to the next round. Solange has a huge fanbase and after this performance an excellent shot at advancing to the next round of the competition. I cannot figure out how she did that whatsoever.

4. Illya & Anastasia Strakhov: This act gives me anxiety, but there is no denying that he loves what he does…even if he is risking his life. It was interesting to see him build what I deemed “the glass tower,” which is something I haven’t seen before on the show. Is this act for everyone? No. Did he give himself an amazing chance to advance to the next round? Absolutely. A massive improvement over his audition even if Simon was disappointed.

3. Jonathan Burns: Sometimes, an act combines comedy and whatever their main talent is so impeccably that it is perfection. He is a perfect example of this. This was a big improvement over his audition and was super memorable. Continuing his trend for the early part of the night, Simon was unimpressed in a major way.

2. Brent Street: Kicking off the night, this inventive dance group exhibited not only their incredible skills, but the fact that they are already Vegas ready. If I oversaw the Golden Buzzer, it would have been used on them. The judges were in awe, but alas Simon was not as impressed. Fingers crossed that they make it to the next round!

1. Pranysqa Mishra: Closing the show, Pranysqa’s performance was a wrecking ball in the best way. The Miley Cyrus hit was an unexpected choice that worked perfectly. She should easily advance to the next round of the competition. Heidi summed it up best when she said that she nailed that “big song” and Simon’s assessment that the performance was “surprising” was just icing on the cake.
