Minor League Recap: Captains Notch Only Win for Guardians Affiliates on Tuesday
Minor League Recap for Wednesday, September 4th, 2024
Johnathan Rodriguez hit a home run (his 23rd), but Triston McKenzie is still lost, and so the Clippers also lost. McKenzie gave up eight hits and two homers, but only one walk! Reliever Franco Aleman threw a scoreless ninth, striking out two and allowing no baserunners.

Tommy Mace allowed one run in six innings, striking out three, and allowing five hits and a walk, throwing only 76 pitches, lowering his ERA to 3.65.

Cooper Ingle had a hit and a walk. Ingle and C.J. Kayfus are the only Rubber Ducks with OPS’s over .800, but Kayfus had a golden sombrero in this game, going 0 for 4.
Angel Genao had two hits and Matt Jahec struck out four in an inning and two-thirds for the Captains. Wuilfredo Antunez also had a hit and Travis Bazzana had a walk. Genao (.822), Bazzana (.820) and Antunez (.946) have the only OPS’s over .800 currently in the Captains’ lineup.
2024 draftee, left-handed Rafe Schlesinger had a bit of a bump in the road in his second appearance for the Hillcats, giving up four hits and three runs in 2 and 2/3rds while striking out five. Welbyn Francisca was 2 for 4 with a double, while playing shortstop for Lynchburg. The Hillcats going 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position.
