The very best gifts for people who like to cook, from coasters to cookbooks

People who like to cook are some of the easiest folks to buy gifts for. When in doubt, turn to fancier-than-usual everyday ingredients or reach for some splurgy serveware they might not buy for themselves. But if you're stumped about where to start, you've come to the right place.

As someone who's been writing about gift guides for the better part of a decade, I've learned a lot about what people like to give as gifts and, more importantly, what people actually want to receive. Those "Kiss The Chef" aprons you might see in other gift guides? Sorry, but you won't find those sorts of recommendations here. Instead, you'll find recos for products I've tried and tested — like the Nespresso Vertuo and Made In's Universal Pan Lid — as well as products that I've either given or received as gifts myself. (Hello, Bee's Wrap and the Aerogarden Harvest!). I'd be remiss not to include some of the internet's highly rated and reviewed products, so you'll find some of those below as well.

Of course, I'm also operating under the (perfectly reasonable) assumption that those who like to cook also like to eat, so in addition to cooking gadgets and serveware picks, I've also included some interesting foods for both snacking and cooking with, like Waguy beef tallow spray, separate olive oils for drizzling and sizzling, fancy Japanese BBQ sauces and Spicy Dill Pickle-flavored almonds.

There are lot of great gift ideas out there for people who like to cook, so let's jump right in!
