Portland police investigate deadly Old Town shooting, no arrests made

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An overnight shooting near the West Burnside Bridge in Old Town Portland has resulted in the death of one man, authorities reported.

The Portland Police Bureau responded to the scene at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Ankeny Street at 3:36 a.m. on Wednesday. 

Upon their arrival, Central Precinct officers were told a man had already been driven to a medical facility in a private vehicle. Officials said he died at the hospital.

There have been no arrests in the deadly shooting. According to PPB, the suspect — or suspects — fled the scene before police responded. 

Portland’s Homicide Unit is now investigating the incident. Police encourage anyone with further information to contact authorities.

Officials will publicly identify the deceased man after a medical examiner has confirmed the identity, and after the family notifies others.
