How to invite people to Deadlock explained
Valve’s Deadlock was under wraps for some time as it progressed to a point where it became playable for a select few.
Now, the player count is in the tens of thousands every day but you can’t just press the play button on Steam, you’ll need an invite from someone else.
If you’re one of the lucky ones already in and are wanting to invite your friends, or want to pester someone for a code, we’ll reveal here how you can do so.
How to send an invite to Deadlock
To invite people to Deadlock, you must first have the users you want to grant access on your Steam friends list.
Once you have the designated people on your friends list, open up Deadlock and on the main menu look to the bottom right of the screen where there should be an ‘Invite your Friends’ button.
Hit this button and your Stream friends list will appear allowing you to choose.
To make things either, the devs have made it so you’re able to see who can actually be invited, who already have an invite, and those who have been playing Deadlock, minimizing the chances of accidentally sending it to someone that doesn’t need it.
You know the recipient has got it because they will get a Steam notification which will then need to be accepted and the game will be added to their library.
Something to note here is that contrary to other invite systems, the Deadlock invite may not appear for your friends for a couple of hours so if you plan on getting a late night session in, ensure you’re getting the invite sorted in advance.
Once you have given the squad invites, you can just add them to your game through the usual Steam means or via the ‘Play with Friends’ option again on the main menu.
