Owners of electric vehicles will be able to access free charging at sites across the nation.

The deal is provided by chargepoint operator Raw Charging to celebrate World EV Day on September 9.

Customers will be able to charge from empty without paying a penny for almost 24 hours.

All fees will be revoked at 12.01am on Monday and won’t resume until 11.59 pm that night.

This will apply to all Raw chargepoints, including its “destination chargers”.

These cover popular destinations including Merlin theme parks like Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures as well as National Trust locations.

Plus, there are over 500 chargers situated by some of the nation’s favourite pubs as part of a deal with the Greene King chain.

You can find a full list of chargers and track down the one nearest to you on Raw’s website – just search “Raw Charging find a charger”.

They can also be found by downloading the ChargePoint mobile app or using ZapMap’s interactive tool.

The firm says it wants to “give back to drivers” with the offer as thousands take the plunge into EV ownership every year.

If you do take advantage of the deal then, based on the average cost of charging and EV battery capacity, you could get up to £33-worth of power per charge for nothing.

Raw CEO Jason Simpson said: “For a third year in a row, we’re delighted to celebrate World EV Day by giving back to the EV drivers of theUK and thanking our hosts for their ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing emissions.

“Our partnerships with businesses in the leisure, hospitality and retail sectors show the importance of destination charging and we’d like to thank our customers at these Amazing Places by offering free charging on 9 September 2024.

“We look forward to continuing our rollout of destination charging across the UK and Europe to help aide the transition to EVs.”

It comes after a major car brand shockingly U-turned on its commitment to go EV-only by 2030 and shared three reasons for the sudden shift.
