Queensbury HS seniors start "last first day" with a sunrise

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Seniors at Queensbury High School arrived at the campus track before dawn to watch the sunrise, as they embarked on their last, first day of school.

"It's really special to get everyone from our class all together," said Class of 2025 Vice President Lilly Trowbridge, "it's a good way to start out the year."

"It's crazy, you know, time really flies," said Class of 2025 President Chase Baker, "it's almost a celebration."

The Senior Sunrise was organized by teachers Elyssa Carson and Karen Cummings, who are advisors for the Class of 2025.

"This is a tradition we started last year and we're super excited to continue it," said Carson.

"I just hope that the kids really embrace their senior year and enjoy themselves," Cummings added.

The advisors greeted the seniors with a table of breakfast goodies and words of encouragement.
