Tracking Ohio's weekend football weather: Will there be rain?
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- This weekend will be action-packed with football across the state. Storm Team 4 has everything covered from Football Friday Nite to the NFL season openers in Cleveland and Cincinnati. Each forecast will see something a little different. This is mainly thanks to the next weather-maker that will move through the state on Friday night.
Ahead of a cold front on Friday, temperatures across central Ohio will be above normal reaching the upper 80s. A few scattered showers are expected to pop up later in the afternoon and evening hours. Some of this rain may impact fans at high school football games. Temperatures will cool down fairly quickly into the night.
Behind the cold front will be a rush of crisp autumn like air. Both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Ohio Bobcats will see near picture-perfect conditions. Skies will stay mainly clear with a bit of a chill in the air by the end of their respective games.
For those driving down to Cincinnati for the Bengals home opener, it will be very cool in the morning . It warm up to the mid 70s by halftime with sunny skies. Some clouds will build up by the end of the game.
The Cleveland Browns will see a later start time, but it will be a lot cooler along the lake in the afternoon and evening. Skies for most of the day are going to stay clear, with a few more clouds by the fourth quarter. Temperatures will not leave the 60s.
