Portland man arrested, accused of 2023 North Tabor murder

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland man has been arrested and accused of murder in connection to the 2023 fatal shooting Jessie Lavell Marks Sr., authorities said.

Alexander E. Warren, 35, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 29, in the 7100 block of Southeast Division Street, Portland police said. The arrest was made by Portland Police Bureau detectives with the assistance of PPB's Special Emergency Reaction Team and U.S. Marshalls.

Warren has been lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center and faces charges that include second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

The shooting happened on May 24, 2023, in Portland's North Tabor Neighborhood.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 9:20 a.m. where they found a man dead at the scene in the 5500 block of Northeast Glisan Street. The victim was later identified as Marks by police.
