Hot air balloons take to the skies in Topeka this weekend for 49th Huff 'n Puff

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The 49th Annual Huff 'n Puff Hot Air Balloon Rally is this weekend in Topeka.

Locals may catch sight of a hot air balloon or two floating through the air from Sept. 6-8 as enthusiasts take to the skies from Topeka's Mount Hope Cemetery. Around 20 balloons are expected to be in attendance, launching from the cemetery on the mornings of Sept. 7-8 and the evenings of Sept. 6-7.

The Great Plains Balloon Club is organizing this special event along with special balloon discovery workshops for children. The full event schedule can be found below:

• Friday, Sept. 6
  • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. - balloon flight launch window.
  • 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - balloon glow.
• Saturday, Sept. 7
  • 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. - balloon flight launch window.
  • 4 p.m. - balloon discovery.
  • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. - balloon flight launch window.
  • 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - balloon glow.
• Sunday, Sept. 8
  • 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. - balloon flight launch window.
