Woman choked, robbed of $6K while walking in Queens: NYPD

DOWNTOWN FLUSHING, Queens (PIX11) -- A woman was robbed while walking in Queens Thursday night, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened at around 11:50 p.m.

Police say a 63-year-old woman was walking near Frame Place and Maple Avenue when someone approached her from behind and choked her.

The suspect took the victim's bag, which contained her wallet, iPhone, and $6,000 in cash, and fled, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.
