Trump went on to note that New York University is a “very high quality place” and said that Barron “liked the school” when he visited.
“I’ve known NYU for a long time, but it’s one of the highest rated,” Trump added.
While he’s happy that Barron decided to go to NYU, Trump said that his own alma mater, University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, was a close second choice.
“I went to Wharton, and that was certainly one that we were considering,” Trump shared. “We didn’t do that. We went for Stern.”
Trump also said that he’s excited to watch his youngest son take the next step in his life.
“He’s a very high aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child,” Trump said. “He’s just passed into something beyond child-dom. He’s doing great.”
He also noted that Barron plans on continuing playing soccer at college.
On Wednesday (Sept. 4), the New York Post published photos of Barron flanked by Secret Service agents as he arrived at NYU for his first day of classes.
